You might think that this is so simple and obvious. However, a little habit of life is what builds up the personalities. If you are not using the room, please flip the switch. If a small light source is needed in the middle of the night, install nightlights to guide you throughout your late night bathroom breaks. Use natural light during the day and keep electricity usage to a minimum.

If you’re able to maintain a habit switching off lights, you can save money and the Earth at the same time.

This small change in habit may not be much but when it is applied to crowds of people and even larger masses of the population, it’ll result in a change that could possibly cut our industrial power generation emissions in half.

Seal Your Home Properly

In-home climate control may be a common thing to practice. But we should take note if your home is sealed properly. Most air conditioners have a thermostat that can save energy consumption. However, if your temperature controlled air is getting out, the thermostat wouldn’t matter as the air conditioner would constantly recondition the air. Therefore, you can reduce the energy consumption with proper home sealing.

Don’t Waste Food

Excess food decomposition creates greenhouse gas. If you purchase your meal, do not buy extra! Only prepare as much food as you can consume. According to the EPA, about 95% of disposed of consumables ended up in landfills or combustion facilities. These emit a huge amount of greenhouse gas and warm up our Earth.
